Lead Academic Counselor

Giovanni Milan Headshot

I was born and raised in Seattle and earned my Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. Through my coursework, engaging in internships, volunteering in the community, and regularly participating in cultural and ethnic student organizations, the foundation was set for my career in supporting undergraduate students. After moving back to Seattle, I worked at a local non-profit organization supporting traditionally underrepresented, first generation, students of color in their pursuit of their college degree where I had the privilege and opportunity to help them navigate their own campus experiences through academic and career advising. Ultimately, my experiences led me to obtain my Master of Education in Student Development Administration at Seattle University, where my values in fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and holistic student development approach were reaffirmed and strengthened.

As an academic adviser with Humanities Academic Services, I am looking forward to supporting the University of Washington community and connecting with you soon to assist you in achieving your goals!
