*At this time, please note we are working remotely due to the suspension of on-campus operations at UW.*
Humanities Academic Services (HAS) aims to be the heart of the Humanities experience at UW; our goal is to create opportunity and help every student be engaged, supported, and prepared for the future they help to create. Housed within the College of Arts & Sciences Humanities division, HAS works to serve undergraduate students from the following departments:
- Asian Languages & Literature
- Cinema & Media Studies (CMS)
- Comparative History of Ideas (CHID)
- French & Italian Studies
- Scandinavian Studies
- Slavic Languages & Literatures
- Spanish & Portuguese Studies
Our office can help with current and prospective humanities undergrad students with a wide variety of advising needs, from declaring majors and assessing degree progress to pre-career planning, funding, and graduate school preparation. Please note that HAS does not currently support graduate students at this time; graduate students should work directly with their departments on advising questions.
The humanities division oversees 41 different languages taught at the University of Washington. Students interested in learning more about placement and proficiency tests taught in humanities departments can learn more here.
