Academic Counselor
I am originally from the Bay Area in California and moved to Seattle in 2018 to pursue my undergraduate degree at the University of Washington. I graduated in June 2022 with a double major in Creative Writing and Dance and a minor in Education. During my time in undergrad, I served as a Resident Adviser and Assistant Resident Director in Housing & Food Services, which sparked my love for supporting students in navigating a large university setting, especially those who are minoritized by higher education systems. Although I was planning to become an English teacher upon entering UW, I became more and more interested in how I can use my knowledge to help others reach their individual goals regardless of their areas of academic interest. I am excited to be advising with Humanities Academic Services to continue these passions professionally.
In addition, as a former Humanities major, I am adamant about showing students the value of Humanities in our current world. I firmly believe there is nothing Humanities students cannot do and the world is a better place because of our skills in critical thinking, creativity, deep questioning, and balancing multiple truths. Come chat with me if you need advice on how to pursue research, internships, and careers as a Humanities student.
Outside of work, I will most likely be found dancing. I absolutely love jazz dance (particularly lindy hop, solo jazz, and tap) and you may see me out on the floor if you go to a local swing dance social! Other than that, I love to thrift shop, read, bake, try new coffee shops, and attempt to make my cat, Ella, cuddle with me.
