Academic Counselor
I was born and raised in Newcastle, South Africa. I crossed the Atlantic to pursue my undergraduate studies at St. Olaf College in Minnesota where I received my bachelors studying Chinese, Economics and Political Science. While in undergrad I enjoyed working in residential life where I was first introduced to a role where I could support students. After graduating I moved to Shanghai, China where I worked for a public university before working with an American study-abroad company facilitating programs in Shanghai. During that period I wanted to add more to theory to my practice and decided to go graduate school and ended up deciding to become a Husky!
My goal in higher education is to work to make our campuses more inclusive, global, and safe for all students to be able to pursue their academic goals and explore their intellectual interests as they prepare to use their skills to sustain the world and create a better future.
