Any current UW student from the UW Bothell, Seattle or Tacoma campuses can request a Amharic exam.

Back to TopStudents requiring a Amharic language placement exam should contact Mehari Worku, Assistant Teaching Professor via mworku3@uw.edu. Students are asked to confirm the following in their email:
- - Their current UW student ID number
- - The reason for wanting to take the exam (graduation requirements, placement, etc.)
- - Their current level of proficiency/ familiarity with the language
Currently, there is no cost for exams in Amharic.

Back to TopNo, students will not get academic credit for their placement or proficiency exams. However, by passing proficiency exams students can meet world language requirements for graduation and requirements for majors and minors in the Department of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures.
