Currently, there are no Romanian language classes offered at UW, so no placement tests are available for students who are looking to continue their studies in Romanian. At this time, only a proficiency test is available for students who wish to clear their degree's world language proficiency requirement.
Back to TopThere is no placement assessment available for Romanian because Romanian language classes are not currently offered at UW. Please read over the department’s web page for the most up to date information: Examinations and Tests | Slavic Languages & Literatures.
Back to TopProficiency tests are intended for students who are trying to meet the UW’s world language proficiency requirement for graduation by demonstrating a proficiency beyond the 1st year level. Placement assessments are different, and are intended for students who will continue taking classes in Romanian at UW.
To take the proficiency assessment, students should follow the instructions on this page and use the appropriate link available in the "Register for a Test" section toward the bottom of the page. More information about the test be found on this page ALTA Language Testing).
Back to TopDepartmental points of contact for Romanian results will vary by year; please refer to the departmental testing webpage to see who to contact for results.
Back to TopStudents will not have access to specific scores, but placement or proficiency outcomes will be reported to students from testing faculty following completion of the test.
If you have not heard back from the department within three weeks of taking the assessment, please email slavoffice@uw.edu.
