Currently, there are no Romanian language classes offered at UW, so no placement tests are available for students who are looking to continue their studies in Romanian. At this time, only a proficiency test is available for students who wish to clear their degree's world language proficiency requirement.
There is no placement assessment available for Romanian because Romanian language classes are not currently offered at UW. Please read over the department’s web page for the most up to date information: Examinations and Tests | Slavic Languages & Literatures.
Back to TopProficiency tests are intended for students who are trying to meet the UW’s world language proficiency requirement for graduation by demonstrating a proficiency beyond the 1st year level. Placement assessments are different, and are intended for students who will continue taking classes in Romanian at UW. Please email slavoffice@uw.edu with your UW NetID for access to the Romanian proficiency exam.
The Romanian proficiency exam is taken in Canvas and proctored remotely via Proctorio. The Romanian proficiency exam also has an oral component - to schedule the oral interview for Romanian, students should consult the department’s web page for the most up to date information: Examinations and Tests | Slavic Languages & Literatures.
Departmental points of contact for Romanian results will vary by year; please refer to the departmental testing webpage to see who to contact for results.
Students will not have access to specific scores, but placement or proficiency outcomes will be reported to students from testing faculty following completion of the test.
If you have not heard back from the department within three weeks of taking the assessment, please email slavoffice@uw.edu.
